Former NAFDAC DG’s Daughter Wins International Award
The former Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), late Dora Akunyili daughter, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, has won the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s 2014 James Dicke Prize.
Njideka will receive a cash prize of $25,000 (N4,442,493.70) along with the award which “recognizes an artist younger than 50 who has produced a significant body of work and consistently demonstrates exceptional creativity.”
Akunyili Crosby will now also be represented by the prestigious Victoria Miro gallery while her works will be featured in the New Museum Triennial, Art News reports.
